Ancestry

General Maiwand's Ancestry can be traced back eight generations to the famous Tatar Bâbâ.

Our great-uncle Hâkem-kâkâ, wrote this Maiwand Ancestry around 1970, which provides the following information:

• Maiwands are Pashtuns, the largest ethnic group in Afghanistan. We are descendants of Tatar Bâbâ, who gave rise to Tatarkhails, a branch of Iliaskhails, part of Stanikzais, part of Sulaimankhails, the descendents of Sulaiman Baba.
• Prior to moving to Kabul, our forefathers lived in Tangi Saidân and before that in Chauke Arghandeh.
